Since 1988

We’re a small team with decades of experience producing custom pewter belt buckles for industry, military, rodeo, clubs and teams across Australia.

Our work has always centred around practical craftsmanship, real materials, and objects made to last.

Buckingham Pewter began in Western Australia in 1982, producing handcrafted pewter objects at a time when most recognition items were still highly traditional in format and presentation.

In the mid 1980s, then owner Anne Bradford developed the idea for the commemorative pewter belt buckle as a form of recognition for significant operational, mining, and team milestones. The original concept was first realised in 1988 and what began as a practical idea for marking important moments, steadily evolved into work produced for industries, military units, emergency services, clubs, teams, and organisations across Australia.

While the projects themselves have changed through time, the core approach behind our work has remained much the same, practical manufacturing, hands-on production, and objects designed to be kept, worn, and remembered long after the event itself.

Four decades later, Buckingham Pewter continues to operate from Western Australia using a combination of traditional pewter casting methods, in-house production processes, and modern manufacturing technology to produce custom recognition projects across a wide range of applications.

Our traditional processes, honed through decades of experience, still see much of the work carried through the factory by hand, from concept development and mould creation through to casting, assembly, and finishing.

Concept & Design

Sketches, logos, or rough concepts are refined collaboratively to suit the intended design and presentation outcomes.

Master & Moulding

Masters and moulds are created in-house to prepare each project for scalable casting and consistent production quality.

Delivered Recognition

From first discussion through to finished delivery, final results have been developed collaboratively to create recognition suited to your people, purpose, and the occasion behind it.

Behind every finished piece is work shaped through real manufacturing, practical processes, and hands-on production carried through every stage of the project.

Designed, cast, assembled, and finished in-house in Western Australia using traditional pewter production methods.

Recognition built through process, not simply ordered from a catalogue.

Common project questions

Answers to everyday buckle questions

I’ve got an idea — what happens next?

The best place to start is with an email or phone call so we can discuss your project and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll talk through the design, sizing, quantities, and the best approach before anything moves into production.

From there, we’ll usually need any logos, sketches, wording, reference images, or even just a rough idea to begin refining the concept.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Due to the cost of master and mould creation, custom buckle projects are generally best suited to orders of around 25 pieces or more.

Smaller quantities can sometimes be accommodated depending on the project, in particular for military, first responder, or charity-related work.

How long will my order take?

Standard lead times for new custom buckle projects are usually around 4–6 weeks from the latter of artwork or order confirmation. Re-orders are generally faster at around 3 weeks.

Lead times can vary depending on current workload, so more accurate timing can always confirmed at point of order.

If you’re working toward a specific presentation date or event deadline, it’s best to discuss this early. We’ll always try to accommodate important timelines where possible, while balancing existing production commitments already in progress.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Because each custom buckle project requires dedicated master and mould creation, samples unfortunately are not practical without proceeding with a full production order.

Artwork concepts and refinements are discussed and approved before production begins so the final design direction is clear prior to manufacturing.

Do you deliver across Australia?

Absolutely. Orders are regularly shipped Australia-wide.

What are the buckles made from?

Unlike many custom buckle suppliers in Australia, our buckles are manufactured in-house in our Western Australian factory using traditional pewter casting methods.

Pewter is a predominantly tin based alloy well suited to detailed casting and long term durability. All metals used in our pewter are sourced mine direct from Western Australian suppliers before being cast, assembled, and finished locally in-house.

Do you manufacture locally or offshore?

While our primary focus is in-house Australian manufacturing using traditional pewter casting methods here in Western Australia, we also understand commercial realities.

For projects where budget priorities make offshore manufacturing a more suitable option, we maintain long-term offshore manufacturing relationships developed through decades in the industry. Suitable production pathways can be discussed depending on your project requirements.

Still have questions?

Whether you already know exactly what you need, are still working through ideas, or simply aren’t sure where to start, enquiries generally begin with a straightforward discussion around the project, timeline, and intended outcome.
